Borderlands 2 thoughts in wake of Handsome Collection deal

Last week, I was informed that the Borderlands 2: Handsome Collection, which includes Borderlands 2, the Pre-Sequel, over 40 Borderlands 2 DLC's and 7 Pre-Sequel DLC's, with total value at well over $200, was on sale on Steam for an unbelievable $6.00. I had never played any Borderlands game, but have always been half-interested. So getting a deal like this was an opportunity I wouldn't miss. I played Borderlands 2 for three days. I'm on the fence about it already. It's a nice concept. It kind of feels like a mixture between Fallout and Overwatch, with a difficulty akin to Dark Souls at times.
My first complaint is how poorly the terrain is designed as far as collision goes.
I'm used to Overwatch, where you can run/retreat around corners and not have to worry about getting hung up on some invisible collision barrier.
This isn't just an occasional issue in BL2 either, it's a constant annoyance. I could attribute a significant portion of my deaths to trying to retreat around a corner, only to get hung up on it.
Another related issue is that sometimes ramp collision models are smaller than the animation. This means sometimes falling off of them, even though you're clearly still "on it". In one of those cases, I got permanently stuck, which is the next related issue...
I have had three instances where I jumped into a spot I couldn't get out of, without exiting and re-entering the game, which leads me to another issue...
My second complaint is that the "save point" system is garbage.
You could spend 2 hours fighting your way to a certain point, but god-forbid you either have to leave the game before the mission is done for any reason or reach the boss, only to realize you're not ready for it.
Why? Because oftentimes, you're going to have to do that 2 hours all over again. It gives me flashbacks of having to replay several levels back & forth on Crash Bandicoot.
My third and last complaint is that bosses are often akin to those in Dark Souls. They at first seem impossible to beat until you figure out how and get a few more levels.
Wilhelm had me raging mad, ready to exit the game and consider never launching it again, until I realized my "Shoots as fast as you can click" shotgun was good for killing the shield surveyors quickly.
I also got stuck on Bloodwing for awhile, until I realized that her hitbox was the size of a barn and so, once again, my shotgun saved the day. But that also wasn't until AFTER I had replayed that whole map two more times (Thanks to aforementioned issues) and gained two more levels as well.
It seems a big part of my problem though is that I don't grind side-quests. In fact, I haven't done any. Apparently these bosses are a lot easier if you do.
I'm on the fence, because although these are big complaints, I can see a lot of potential. I'm also a PvP kind of guy. It's really a shame there's no PvP in this game. I can't really get myself to continue playing though. Hopefully Borderlands 3 offers a better experience.
