Words could never suffice to express my disdain for what Diablo III has done to my favorite franchise. I'll try my best to keep this short & sweet, if such a thing is possible.
-Diablos new female form is cringey.
-"His" passive-aggressive voice-lines are even cringier, almost as if to parody him.
-First there was no PvP and that sucked, then there was and it was awful, then there wasn't anymore and that sucked.
-They removed the auction house and never enabled trading.
- Their idea of an endgame that keeps you playing is to farm rifts and higher difficulties for more/better gear and gold, so you can farm higher difficulties and rifts for more/better gear and gold.
-The gameplay and mechanics have far more in common with World of Warcraft than either previous Diablo title.
-You're given the mere illusion of choice, as the best gear are mostly staple sets.
-Jay Wilson, the original game-director for Diablo III, expressed disdain for Diablo II and its PvP oriented fanbase, as well as trying to lecture the franchise fanbase on "What is fun" after designing a game far out of touch with the franchise fanbase.
-Wilson also completely and repetitively disrespected the franchises founding developer and visionary, David Brevik.
I wish I could say I was outraged by the Diablo: Immortal announcement too, but I stopped giving a damn about what they do with the Diablo franchise after Diablo III ruined it for me.
