There's no such thing as Authoritarian Right

Well, there is, but not in American politics. Confused? Allow me to explain.
What nearly everyone seems to fail to realize is that the American left-wing and right-wing do not mirror the European left and right. This is due to a few simple facts that all of the American left and even some of the right don't acknowledge; that America was the first nation founded on holding the principals of liberty above all else and that our heritage and history has carried over a profound appreciation for liberty that other people in other countries don't have.
It's true that since then other countries have adopted a template resembling ours, but unlike the United States right-wing, their culture wasn't founded on it and therefor not effected by it to the core. They may have assimilated liberty, but their culture doesn't hold it paramount the way we do. It's become just part of what they do, but not the core-belief.
Because of this, there's a distinction between Europe's left and right and the United States left and right. Our political spectrum ranges from authoritarianism on the far-left and libertarianism on the far-right. That's because our far-left rejects what this country was founded on, rejects its history, and thinks that the state can solve all of life's unfair predicaments. Therefor, they want the government to intervene in nearly everything and control what can be done, how it's done, what can be said by who, regulate this, ban that, etc. That leads to authoritarianism. You can trace atrocities via the likes of Hitler, Stalin, & Mao Zedong to that before you can even consider attributing it to the American right, who hold liberty and small government above everything else.
Meanwhile, our right focuses nearly entirely on liberty. Sure, there are those on the right who want certain sanctions for certain things, but either those things are reasonable, they're outliers, or they're the Faux-Christian Right. I say "Faux-Christian", because I personally believe in there being genuine Christians (Of which are a minority) and that most people are masquerading as Christian. Those genuine Christians will not ask for such sanctions, but their voices are drowned out by the rest that do.
The next time someone tries to lump in authoritarianism or fascism with the American right, educate them on the differences between our left and right. Have them understand which side is for liberty and small government and which side wants the government to be the arbiter of everything.
