Those Mad Conspiracy Theorists

I have had a shaky relationship with conspiracy theory over the last decade. I first ran into it when I was 18, when I followed a link about a jury that concluded that the U.S. government was responsible for the death of Martin Luther King Jr. That lead me into a rabbit hole of conspiracy theory and I got swallowed up by it. Since then, I've heard it all; from aliens, lizard men, HAARP, FEMA camps, chemtrails, Project Monarch/MKUltra, to Tesla Waves that can manipulate space, time, and even minds.
I don't really subscribe to any of that crap anymore. It's interesting to keep in mind and to learn about, but at the end of the day, it's just fear mongering, over-active imaginations, and paranoia.
That doesn't change the fact that realistic conspiracy theories can have merit. I generally assume that any conspiracy theory that seems at all convoluted is bogus. However, it's the vague, basic, and generalized theories that I find some merit in.
I very much believe that there is an entity (Or even multiple entities vying for control: whether it's one person, a small group of people, a single business, a business conglomerate, a government subversion, super-elites, etc) that seeks to manipulate and undermine the free world. I don't pretend to know what their specific motivations are, but one thing is certain; they want more for them and less for everyone else. I very strongly believe this is happening and the best telltale evidence going on RIGHT NOW is the systematic division of all types of people in the world.
Gays vs Straights Republicans Vs Democrats Liberals vs Conservatives Men Vs Women Blacks Vs Whites Native Americans vs The Government Gun Control vs Gun/2nd Amend. Advocates Transsexual/Gender Confused vs Straights Right-Wing vs Antifa Muslims vs Christians Mexicans vs Border Policy Advocates Whites vs... well, most of the above
Think about it; every single one of these things have had media-hysterical events within the last few years. These events and the way the media has handled them and selectively covered them, has caused this country to be more divided now than it ever has been in its history. Everyone is fighting amongst each other in some tug of war, while this "entity" likely watches gleefully at the chaos.
I know that sounds like a bunch of paranoid mumbo jumbo, but it's something I've been observing for a long time now and contemplating every single day for years. I could be wrong, but every single thing I witness on a daily basis is like a piece of a huge puzzle and I always find a place where each piece fits.
There is an entity that wants us divided.
